Meyer Rotary Airlock Feeders are used in pneumatic conveying systems, dust control equipment, and as volumetric feed-controls to maintain an even flow of material through processing systems.

The basic use of the rotary airlock feeder is as an airlock transition point, sealing pressurized systems against loss of air or gas while maintaining a flow of material between components with different pressure. Rotary Airlock Feeders are also widely used as volumetric feeders for metering materials at precise flow rates from bins, hoppers or silos into conveying or processing systems.


Standard Duty Drop-Thru Rotary Airlock Feeders meet needs for light to normal conditions

Meyer Standard Duty Drop-Thru rotary airlock feeders are designed for economical and reliable material metering and airlock service.

Ideal for pollution control applications in wood, grain, food, textile, paper, tobacco, rubber, and paint industries, the Standard Duty Series works beneath dust collectors and cyclone separators where temperatures do not exceed 250°F and pressure differentials to 15 PSI.

Meyer Standard Duty valves are available with square or round flanges; they feature rugged castings and larger shaft diameters than competition. Cast Iron, 304 SS, 316 SS and Ni-hard construction available.

Meyer Heavy Duty Tough (HDT) Drop-Thru Airlocks are ideal for dust collection applications

Meyer HDT Series Drop Thru rotary airlock feeders are designed for rugged applications that require an outboard bearing style unit where contamination and /or an abrasive product cannot be handled with an inboard bearing style RAL.
The HDT is engineered for use in high pressure pneumatic conveying systems, with 400 0 F application temperatures where more of an effective seal is required due to high or excessive wear that is experienced with a simple dust collector RAL.
Industries requiring the HDT are cement, asphalt, chemical, mining , plastics.

Heavy Duty Side Entry Drop Thru Airlock Feeder


Side Entry or Offset feeders are commonly used in applications involving relatively large particles that cannot be reduced by shearing between the rotor blades and the housing at the inlet. Side Entry feeders are also used where fines produced by the shearing action might cause damage to the system or create hazards. The inlet and outlet flanges are offset. Material entering the inlet from the side has more time to settle into the pocket of the rotor so particles do not get trapped between the blades and the housing. The housing has a built-in “V” at the inlet assisting positioning of material into the rotor pocket further reducing any possible clipping of material.

Blow-Thru Rotary Airlock Feeders ideal for pneumatic conveying

The Meyer Blow-Thru Rotary Airlock Feeder is ideal for Pneumatic Conveying applications in food, grain, chemical, milling, baking, plastics and pharmaceutical industries.

The Blow-Thru airlocks feature a low profile, larger capacity than competition. Pressure differentials to 20 PSI, integral mounting feet, and retrofit competitive units. Meyer Blow-Thru valves are available with square or round flanges; cast iron housing, stainless steel construction optional; mild steel 8-vane open-end rotor; outboard bearings; replaceable shaft seals and large shaft diameters.

Klean-in-Place Rotary Airlock Feeders designed for in service cleaning

The Meyer Klean-In-Place Rotary Airlock Feeder is a special purpose valve suited for Dairy, Pharmaceutical, Food, Baking, Chemical, Paint, and Powder Coating plants.

No tools are required to simply remove the headplate, which is attached to the valve housing with easily unscrewed release handles. The four slide bar supports, using linear bearings, provide maximum support of the rotor while it's pulled out and the valve can be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected in a short time. This feature makes the Klean-In-Place ideal when frequent cleaning and sanitary service is required to prevent product contamination. It is also effective in batch systems demanding regular cleaning between cycles.

The unique design of the Klean-In-Place incorporates a built-in device that automatically reestablishes the close dimensional tolerances between the rotor and housing and a safety interlock switch. Meyer Klean-In-Place valves are available with square or round flanges, standard airlock options, and USDA and sanitary construction. The Klean-In-Place also meets the 3A Sanitary Standards.

Kwik-Klean ® Rotary Airlock Feeders permit fast disassembly without the use of tools

The Kwik-Klean Series Rotary Airlock Feeders permit fast and simple disassembly/reassembly for quick cleaning, inspection or maintenance without the use of tools or removal from service. The feeders can be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and inspected in a minimum amount of time, thereby reducing downtime and increasing system production.

By backing out the hand tightened fasteners which secure the end plate to the body, the operator can quickly remove the end plate and rotor and expose the entire housing interior. Reassembly without tools is accomplished in minutes. Internal clearances are automatically re-established every time.

This feature is of major benefit to the chemical processing industry where sanitary service and frequent cleaning are required to prevent contamination. It is ideal for batch mixing systems such as those handling different colored resins or paint pigments which demand regular cleaning between cycles.

A-Series Double Flap Gate Valves offer state of the art design for dust collection airlocks

Meyer A-Series are designed for dust collector, precipitator, cyclone applications where maximum pressure differentials are 83”WC (3PSI). Traditional rotary airlocks experiencing premature wear may be replaced with the A-Series airlock. The cast iron housing, air cylinders, Hi-Chrome or Ni-Hard seat/flaps makes this an economical alternative to the rotary valve. Low profile enables the MPSA model to directly fit in place of most rotary valves. MPTA matches the “Industry Standard” flange pattern and height. Electro-mechanical or gravity/counterweight actuation available.

F-Series Double Flap Gate Valves are a simple and reliable solution for low pressure material feed

Meyer’s F-Series is used for simple low-pressure basic dust collection applications with maximum 30” WC pressure differentials where low cost is critical and a rotary airlock or slide gate is unwarranted. Operating temperatures for this type of unit are normally in the 250°F range. Used under cyclones, baghouses and collection hoppers the F-Series is a low maintenance and dependable alternative. Available with gravity/counterweight or air-operated actuation.
